SWITZERLAND – Why travel to Switzerland???

SWITZERLAND – Why travel to Switzerland???

Just because it’s a 700 year old country with the most jaw-dropping, eye-popping, spectacular scenic beauty in the world that also has some of the cleanest cities in the World?

Or because it harbors the magnificently grand snow-peaked Alps and dozens of tiny, picturesque villages cuddling the mountain range or the dazzling Lake Geneva? From its breathtaking beauty to its brilliant infrastructure, Switzerland is all that and so much more.

Its’ a country where you wish your vacation never ends! A gratifying candy store for an adventure enthusiast or a nature lover.

Let’s us guide you to the pictorial land famous for its chocolates, cheeses & watches and where the enchanting, scenic carnival never ends!

Switzerland has one of the most amazing and hassle-free transportation systems in the World that take you through the heart of the country and leave you gasping for another tour.

For a truly striking experience, take a journey on the Glacier Express, (the slowest express train in the world) which connects you with St.Moritz to Zermatt and let’s you take in the Graubünden holiday area with the lush forests, snow-capped mountains, idyllic, traditional ancient villages along with 291 bridges and 91 tunnels in its way and also covering the Oberalp Pass on its way to Chur.

Or you could enjoy the Lakes and centuries-old mountain streams via boat cruises. Explore Lake Geneva (the largest lake in Europe) or drink Kaffe fertig (coffee with a shot of schnapps) while enjoying the quaint Lake Luzern or the Lake Lugano.

Other options can include a yellow postal bus taking you everywhere from Gerard Rabaey in Montreux (gorge on his foodie delights - sweatbreads, pigeon and puff pastry) to the Watch Valley in Geneva (Swiss watches in their full splendor) to the Dying Lion of Lucerne Monument in Lucerne.

Travel to the top of the mountains for a dizzying view by the mountain railways.

The Swiss Alps have a luxuriant array of mountain resorts whether you go in the summers for some spectacular hiking trails or you visit the country in the frosty winters – the options for convivial activities and dramatic scenery are endless!

Stay at the Bernese Oberland Region and explore popular peaks like Jungfrau and Eiger or soak in the sybaritic 5 star deluxe Hotel Swissôtel Basel. Want to get really Swissy? Try a cozy, comfy chalet-like hotel such as Hotel Alpenblick in Wilderswil.

The cuisines are simply mind-blowing here and the choices unlimited. Seek out Heiko Nieder's exquisite cuisine in Zurich at Dolder Grand. You will find that along with its four national languages, the cuisine of Switzerland matches them to boot as the French and German foods are simply scrumptious.

Do gormandize on the Coupe Chalet in Gruyeres made with vanilla ice cream, Swiss meringues, vin cuit (a syrupy sweet-flavored concoction made by cooking wine or fruit juice) and topped with Gruyere crème.

Check out some picturesque Vineyards and taste some delectable wines on foot or by bicycle.

Go shopping at reasonable prices in Niederdorf which boasts of world-class boutiques and cafes behind the gothic frontals or splurge to your heart’s content in Bahnholfstrasse.

Have a blast skiing in the Davos region in Crans Montana or hiking on the Harder Klum in Interlaken.

For an unforgettable skiing experience, check out St. Moritz with its downhill and cross-country skiing, tobogganing, ice skating, snowboarding, and winter hiking….…whew!

Still want more? Give a shot at cricket or Polo or swing a club while golfing in the snow.

Ride a horse-drawn sleigh, try dog sledding or ice climbing or even ice sailing while you’re at it!

For the city specific features, go for the Clock Tower, built in the 13th century at Bern. The recherché astronomical clock has a history of over 500 years in the city of Bern, which itself is dripping with old world heritage.

As the second place in the world to live, Geneva enthralls its visitor with the world’s largest flower clock, antique stores, luxury boutiques and an intriguing Watch & Clock museum.

Travel through Zermatt, an Alpine village which proposes glacier skiing to its visitors around the year.

Go to Switzerland and not see the gorgeous churches? Impossible.

The Church of Our Lady (Fraumunster) in Zurich has some sensational stained-glass windows by the eminent Chagall.

Before the end of the trip, do try to catch the Zug Lake Festival in Canton Zug which has over 20,000 people coming to view its gigantic fire display. Also catch the fun and frolic at the Zürich Festival held in the summers; it bewitches its visitant with opera, dance, art and theatre. It commences with a summer night ball and an opening ceremony.

CLASSIFICATION OF CARS

CLASSIFICATION OF CARS

Vroom!!Vroom!! These sounds dominate a civilized man's life these days. These vibrations are caused by cars, which has been playing a dominant role in personal voyages of modern day man. Car derived from the North French word carre means us a lot more than the derivation. Like the tweets of the birds, the cars are also of different and distinguished types based on the passenger capacity and the cargo holding. For a clear cut definition of the car varieties, ACRISS car classification code is used. ACRISS is an acronym for Association of Car Rental Industry Systems and Standards.

In ACRISS, a four letter word is designated to a car. For example, the Ford Fiesta that is very common on Hindusthani roads is assigned a code ECMN. Here E stands for Economy class and C stands for 4 doors and M stands for Manual gearbox and N stands for no air-condition exists. Thus knowing the classification protocol, let us jump to the nine settled segment classifications, which are cut and dried by the above association.
A-SEGMENTS

A-Segments consists mini cars that are not specific in construction. The section includes some three wheelers and four wheelers, which have seat capacity less than two passengers and mostly used in urban areas. The size is mostly specified to be under 3400 millimetres. They are to be drived at moderate speeds and not to be used in races. The notable thing in A-Segments are steering which are rack and pinion type instead of power steering like every other segments.

Example : Fiat 500
B-SEGMENTS

B-Segments include small cars such as super mini and super compact cars. These cars are sold at large rates in developing countries, which has passenger capacity of three to four passengers. The doors are mostly engineering in numbers of three or four. These cars also called as light cars are bought mainly by middle class people for they are economical cars too. These cars usually have standard hydraulic engines thereby having a improved fuel economy than A-Segments.

Example : Ford Fiesta
C-SEGMENTS

C-Segments comprises of medium cars like small family cars and compact cars. These cars can be easily identified since they have a sloping back with a hatch that opens upward. Also some cars have salons inside it which are identical to estate cars. If B-Segment cars are sold more in developing countries, C-Segments dominate the auto industry of developed countries. Five persons can be seated at comfort in the passenger sections of these cars. These cars are most reliable cars with intercooler and solar refractive windshield thereby enhancing the happiness of a family picnic.

Example : Toyota Corolla
D-SEGMENTS

D-Segments consists of mid-size cars and cars with modest luxury. Also small executive cars fall under this category. These cars are suitable for non-nuclear families and have powerful engines that consume more space, thereby reducing space for foots in the rear end. These cars are most famous cars appearing in Hollywood motion pictures including James Bond's latest flick "Quantum Of Solace".

Example : Alfa Romeo 159
E-SEGMENTS

E-Segments accommodate cars of mid-luxury and full luxury class. More common term "Executive cars" also denote these cars. A mid luxury car is nothing but a D-Segment car with saloons more big and spacy. This means the car is more spacy and comfortable. Full luxury cars are large cars with more space. Benz cars are well known for the manufactory of these cars. These cars have fuel injection technology and used as inter state taxis in some of the countries. These cars can be easily modified and can be used as ambulances or police vehicles, which is done often.

Example : Mercedes-Benz E Class
F-SEGMENTS

F-Segments include full-size luxury cars with high level design. A full size luxury car has the above prescriptions of a E-Segment cars along with additional cylinder engines which gives them more power. These cars are also called grand tourers and possess comforts like ventilation and curtains at rear seats. Moreover, these cars remain stable and un vibrating even when applied high acceleration. This is acheived in this class by improved suspension and large rear tires.

Example : Jaguar XK
S-SEGMENTS

S-Segments cars are sport-coupe type that are easily identifiable. These cars sometimes have two seats inside and a seat outside resembling a carriage. These cars have high additional performances along with stylish handling. Also to add, they have cutting edge technology and assembled with accurate precision. Some types of this class, called convertibles have a additional flexibility which allows the driver to choose open or enclosed mode driving. These cars have more flexibilities like trim, wider sport wheels, and rain sensing windshield wipers. In addition, know what, these cars since sport types can reach very high acceleration in terms of seconds.

Example : BMW 6 Series
M-SEGMENTS

M-Segments are multi purpose cars like minivans, shortly denoted as MPV. These cars are chiefly used to transport persons, which have high spacious salons. These cars are more taller than normal cars thereby having upright design. These cars have world-class bumpers with headlights providing high illumination. And special features of this bulky class vehicles is traction control which prevents wheel slippage. Thus these passenger carriers are more safe. They also contain power locks and a nice bass sound system. These cars have some dealer-installed options like Video entertainment system and sliding doors

Example : Chrysler Town and country

J-SEGMENTS

J-Segments comprises of SUVs (Sports Utility Vehicles) and large size multi purpose vans. These cars also have more interior space and high cargo holding capacity. They can be easily converted or recreated to fit specific purposes. These vehicles are also provided with automatic gearboxes and transmission standard. Since these vehicles also handle cargo which may be fragile articles like glasses, automatic uniform speed system is used to control vehicles using brakes and throttle. Some high end J-Segments contain embroidered floor mats and roof racks and even automatic climate control. Moreover, a rare option in these types of car is Downhill Assist control which helps in driving hills and mountains and uneven terraces. These types of vehicles provide extreme luxury to the passenger with comfortable seats and built in electronic settings such as televisions.

Example : Range Rover
There are also vehicles like pickup vans, which does not fall under specific category, which is more used for handling cargo applications.

Free forex charts are worth nothing…

Free forex charts are worth nothing…

If you are planning to try your hand at trading and you feel that you can do that successfully by banking upon the free foex charts available then mind you! You would end up losing the game. Nothing in this world comes free, and hard work is the only way to success. Taking short-cuts to make profits would land you in trouble since there is no known short-cut to success…
To understand, how complex a forex chart preparation is, let’s take a look at the processes involved in it. Preparing a forex chart is not an easy task. It takes several people’s efforts to create one forex chart. So it means huge investment for the one planning to create it. A forex chart is prepared based upon the inputs gathered through a detailed study of the currency pairs traded at a particular time. Though preparing charts based upon such studies is a tremendous task, these charts can be referred to only for a few weeks. Volatile market conditions lead such companies to be on their toes to offer the latest movement in the market. This means, these companies spend lakhs of rupees on roping in expert staff specializing in various market segments and latest machinery to handle the computing requirements.

To produce the data to prepare a specific chart, these companies take into account the technical analysis and indicators available in the market. And this amounts to massive work pressure, they need to check the dates, recheck the data and get the computing systems to recheck and verify the numbers. They further have to make predictions and observations and also prepare fundamental analysis based upon the outcome of the research done. On top of that, such charts only offer a 75 per cent accuracy rate in predicting price movements, which is quite high.

All this is a huge task and they have to invest large amounts in forex chart preparation projects. In such a scenario, do you think, they would offer such meticulously prepared charts free of cost? When these companies can earn money with such charts, why would they offer them free of cost? Such free charts are prepared based upon general information or simply putting together the available data without putting in any extra effort to woo your attention with the aim of selling something else to you in future

Isn’t it a common sense to avoid depending upon the charts offered at no cost? People think that, following these charts can help them make millions but it is not true. No such free system in this world is reliable since it is not meant to help you. It is only meant to misguide you into something unachievable. So as we said earlier, there is no short-cut to success. Work hard, study the market and do your home-work. Have confidence in yourself and you can achieve greater heights without facing any hurdles. Happy investing ahead…

Benefiting from Forex Charts

Benefiting from Forex Charts

Online trading options often offer forex charts to help the trader get an idea of the downward or upward journey of a particular currency. It is proved that following such charts is a combination of art and science…studying it carefully is a scientific task and utilizing it for one’s benefit is an art. These charts are prepared in variety of manners…for eg line chart, bar chart or Japanese Candle chart.

Prices in the forex market do not move based upon any theory, nobody can predict what’s the market movement is going to be like. If you learn to technically analyze the fundamentals ie supply-demand ratio added with investor psychology then you would get the right answer ie price. Of course these fundamentals would not bring you profits but its how you perceive them would determine results.

But can you actually rely upon them to yield the profits? The answer depends upon the prediction and self-analysis one makes by keeping track of such charts. But one cannot fully depend upon these predictions and make investments blindly following them. Because ten different investors think in ten different ways and these charts can fluctuate at a fraction of a second.
Then how does one benefit from them? Self analysis and self reliance are the two keys to be successful in forex trading. Keeping track of currency movement over a period of time gives you an idea of which way the curve would probably swing? Once you get the hang of such unpredictable movements of the curve, you can assume that investing now could be beneficial or disastrous.
As we discussed earlier, the market movement fully depends upon the psychology of the investor. He decides which way the market would move. And since human psychology differs from individual to individual, different investors would make different decisions. And a combined result of their decisions is what affects the market. And this is where forex charts help in. They showcase the effect of investor’s decision on the market movement, assisting you to decide your move. And since human nature is constant, you would see a particular graph repeating itself over a period time allowing you to assume the future trading pattern.

All said and done, it completely depends upon how you make the best out of forex charts available to you. Right forex education coupled with willingness to work hard towards achieving your goal by doing your homework would definitely help. By studying these charts and creating your own result oriented predictions based upon the expertise gathered can take you places in this volatile market. If you are willing to sustain losses at the cost of high profits then trading is a way to go.

To conclude, forex charts are there to guide but it’s you who has to learn to use them for your benefit. Rely upon them blindly and you would regret but if you study and learn to analyze them, then you can reap profits.

HAVANESE PUPPIES

HAVANESE PUPPIES

With their small size, cute looks, playfulness and great devotion, havanese puppies make a great addition to your family. However, these toy dogs require a good level of maintenance so before you buy one, make sure that you have the time and money to look after it. You will have to care for it just like you would care for a baby. Here are some facts about havanese puppies.

Appearance- These toy dogs are small in size and weigh just around 7 to 13 lbs. They grow to a height of 8 to 11 inches. Their coat is made up of long, silky, soft hair. The coat comes in different colors like black, cream, white, silver, chocolate, champagne or a mix of two or three colors. These puppies have an adorable appearance which is further enhanced by their happy, playful demeanor.

Character- Havanese puppies make happy, affectionate, playful and devoted companions. They love company and are at their best when surrounded by people they love and trust. These dogs display a certain level of separation anxiety and they do not like to be left alone for long periods of time. They display their resentment by chewing things and barking loudly. They are good watchdogs and are quick to alert you of danger or strangers.

Care - Havanese puppies need a good deal of care and grooming. These puppies shed very little hair, making them a good choice for people who are allergic to dog fur. However, their double coat and low shedding rate mean that these dogs need to be brushed and groomed often. Otherwise, their hair tends to get matted and messy. Some pet owners may decide to cut or clip the puppy’s hair for easier grooming. They also tend to lose their teeth early so, it is essential to brush their teeth regularly and maintain good dental hygiene. Give your dog a bath at least once a month. Havanese puppies are susceptible to ear infections so, it is essential to clean your puppy’s ears every week. You will also need to trim his toenail with a nail clipper. Check for fleas and ticks and take proper preventive care.

Foods- Just like you; your havanese puppy also needs a well balanced diet with a perfect blend of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals etc. You can buy commercial dog foods which provide all these nutrients. If you decide to make your own dog food, include plenty of meat, grains, vegetables and diary products in your puppy’s diet. Occasional healthy treats are also welcome.

Training– Training and housebreaking havanese puppies is a tough task and requires a lot of effort and patience. However, these dogs are intelligent and curious by nature and they love to learn new things. It is essential to understand that dogs are pack animals and they tend to try and establish authority over their surroundings. This results in bad behavior like running away, struggling while grooming, pestering you, being adamant for things, barking at you and so on. Such behavior needs to be purged and controlled. Some aspects of training your dog includes potty training, housebreaking, learning to understand words of praise and correction, learning to be gentle, learning new words, socializing with other people and dogs and so on.

Activities- Havanese puppies are moderate activity dogs. You will need to take your puppy for walks, play with him and so on. Although they do not require too much exercise, they do need to stay engaged and stimulated. This keeps them happy and active. You can also get some chew toys or squeaky toys to make playtime more fun. Make sure that the dog cannot choke on these toys.

Medical care- Choose a good vet for your puppy and ensure that you get regular physical examinations done. You will also need to make sure that the dog gets his vaccinations on time. Follow the schedule laid out by your breeder or vet. During regular visits, your vet may check for worms, especially heartworms, which is a common problem among dogs. If any worms are found, your dog may need de-worming. If well cared for, a havanese puppy will live for 14 to 15 years on average.

Finding a pet for you- The best place to buy a havanese puppy is from a good dog breeder or havanese rescue center. Ensure that the dog has been well cared for. You can identify a healthy dog by its appearance. A well cared for puppy has a healthy, fluffy clean coat and a fleshy appearance. The pup will be energetic and playful. You can also buy a puppy online. There are several web sites dedicated to the sale and purchase of havanese puppies. Check out pictures, descriptions and prices before deciding on the puppy you want. These dogs can cost anywhere between $500 and $2000.

AYURVEDIC HERBS USED IN TREATMENT OF DIABETES

AYURVEDIC HERBS USED IN TREATMENT OF DIABETES

Type 2 diabetes or diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by a situation where the body does not produce as much insulin as it requires or it cannot utilize insulin properly. Carbohydrates present in the foods we eat are broken done into sugars within the body. Insulin hormone produced by the pancreas is necessary to convert these sugars into energy. In diabetics, the insulin hormone is either lacking or it is not utilized efficiently. As a result, sugar tends to accumulate in the blood, leading to high blood sugar levels. Diabetes mellitus seems to be a genetic condition. It usually surfaces around middle age though it is also seen in adolescents and young children. This disease can lead to further complications like heart problems, nerve disease, kidney disease, glaucoma and so on.

According to the science of ayurveda, there are three doshas or humors that constitute the well being and overall health of the body- vata dosha, pitta dosha and kapha dosha. An imbalance in these humors or doshas can lead to diseases like diabetes. While modern medicine aims to treat diabetes with lifestyle changes, drugs and insulin supplementation, Ayurvedic treatment aims to bring the doshas into balance. This is done by lifestyle changes, ayurvedic medications, stress relieving techniques for mental well being and so on.

The following herbs are commonly used in Ayurvedic treatment of diabetes

• Bitter gourd (Momordica charantia) – Bitter gourd juice must be taken daily on an empty stomach to get the best results. Studies have shown that extracts from this plant can increase insulin sensitivity and lower blood sugar levels. Although the juice is bitter and may be difficult to consume, it is best advised not to sweeten the extract with any other additive.

• Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum graecum) – You can soak fenugreek seeds in water overnight and consume the water in the morning or you can powder fenugreek seeds and add the powder to a glass of milk and drink it. Studies suggest that this herb has the ability to increase insulin sensitivity. An amino acid called 4-hydroxyisoleucine present in fenugreek may be able to trigger insulin production in the pancreas. Further studies are required to fully understand the efficacy and mode of action of this herb in the treatment of diabetes.

• Turmeric (Curcuma longa)- Turmeric has long been hailed as a medicinal herb thanks to its anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant properties. A study conducted by Dr. Drew Tortoriello et al at the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center at Columbia University Medical Center shoed that mice which were treated with turmeric showed a lesser susceptibility to developing diabetes type 2. Moreover, the inflammation that is associated with obesity was also comparatively lesser in these mice. This proves that turmeric helps combat diabetes by increasing insulin sensitivity and preventing inflammation.

• Neem (Azadirachtha indica)- Extracts of the leaves and seeds of the neem tree have been found to be effective in treatment of diabetes. The exact mechanism through which neem works to lower blood glucose levels is not known and studies are still being carried out in this area. However, studies have proved beyond doubt that neem does reduce blood sugar levels to the extent that the patient does not need to take hypoglycemic drugs. It also improves blood circulation. Chewing a leaf of neem everyday can help protect against diabetes and also treat existing diabetes.

• Garlic (Allium sativum)- A compound called allicin or diallyl disulphide oxide, present in garlic is highly effective in countering diabetes. This substance prevents insulin inactivation by binding to insulin inactivating sites on the liver. Garlic also has antioxidant properties and protects the cells and organs from damage due to free radicals. It lowers cholesterol levels and has antihypertensive effects. These properties make it all the ore beneficial for diabetics.

• Gooseberry (Terminilia offocinialis)- This berry is very rich in vitamin C. It has the effect of reducing blood sugar levels and also stimulates insulin production. A mix of gooseberry and turmeric powder taken on an empty stomach is highly beneficial for diabetes. You can also combine gooseberry juice with bitter gourd juice to make a potent remedy for diabetes. This mixture is believed to stimulate the islets of Langerhans in the pancreas to produce more insulin.

PREGNENCY WEEK 26- this pain is very interesting

PREGNENCY WEEK 26- this pain is very interesting

It is ironical, yet trues for all, that trespasses the regional, cultural and geographical boundaries, “Children all over the world are not same, but the parents throughout are same”. A child may not be concerned with his parents but the parents concerns are attached to him even before the child is born that stretches to heir last moments of life.

It is no more hidden that both mother and father has to take care of child when he is in mother’s womb. There are many pains and uncomforts that a mother has to bear; still, the pain seems to be very interesting. However, the most crucial period for both, mother and child is the pregnancy period that demands gallons of care and countless precautions.

Growth of baby till week 26
In sonography, you can easily identify the veins of the baby peeping put from the skin, though they get quickly transformed from transparent to opaque. Moreover, your baby can hear you and those around you. It may be unbelievable as we assume that the uterus is a quiet place, however, it can be proved as you may feel the jump of the baby at loud and sudden voices. Things like your heartbeat, digestion, and other body functions are heard by the baby as well as external noises. Moreover, some light that passes through Uterus allows baby to feel the darkness and light. S/he weighs 1 pound 12 ounces (794 grams) and measures 32.5 cms or 12.8 inches total length on an average.
Body Development of Mother till Week 26
By this week, the uterus is expected to be around 2.5inches above the navel level and continue to grow at a pace of 1 centimeter every week of your pregnancy. Many women also put on between 15 and 25 pounds by this time, though the weigh gain depends largely on fluid retention. The comfortable level starts decreasing from this week as you go further with pregnancy time. Enlisted are few of the symptoms that may be experienced:
• Breast Changes, tenderness, fullness, darkening of the areola
• Frequent Urination
• Constipation
• Indigestion or heartburn
• Occasional headaches
• Stretch Marks (cocoa butter can help with these)
• Itching
• Round ligament pains
• Hemorrhoids

Precautions
• Do not mislead yourself by comparing other expectant moms. The way you carry depends less on the size of the fetus and more on her shape, structure, and position. Overall muscle tone also matters; if you have tight muscles, your belly may not pop out as soon or as much as it would with looser muscles.
• Grab on to nutritious food especially iron-rich stuff. Don’t forget that your child relies on your body and iron-rich food like spinach gets strength for his body.
• Never forget the vitamins recommended by your doctor as they are important ingredient for your child’s growth.
• Make sure you have a fixed routine for exercise at it not only keeps you active but also gets the child some momentum.

Then copy this image into something known as memory stick and then as a final step put that memory stick into your PSP and just play. ISO files are primarily used as backup files and also can be used as sharing bulky data.

There are many burning programs which can burn these images into CDs hence the question of How to play ISO image file is longer a question as it has a straight and simple answer.

AIIMS MBBS 2010 Entrance Exam Notification Form How to Apply

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has just few days back issued exam notification for its MBBS entrance exam for its August, 2010 batch. Click here to download the AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam 2010 Notification. Also click here to download the AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam 2010 Prospectus.

This blog post tries to encapsulate the AIIMS exam notification touching upon the important points while a subsequent blog article would give you the AIIMS entrance study materials – sample papers & books for preparation of the exam.

At first, let me un-nerve you a little with AIIMS MBBS exam statistics. How tough do you think AIIMS entrance exam is? How many seats are there vis-à-vis how many people appears for the AIIMS entrance exam?

AIIMS acceptance rate:
Well let me tell you AIIMS MBBS entrance exam is very competitive – each year close to 50,000 students appears for this exam and for only 70 odd seats (in AIIMS entrance 2009 exam, 45000 students appeared for 72 seats – source: Indian Express) – the acceptance rate thus is about 0.15% - which means only 15 person in every 10 thousand who appeared could get a seat.
Compare this with the acceptance rate of Ivy League institutes like Harvard –7.1% (22,955 students applied, 2,058 accepted), Yale – 8.3%... source: NY Times.

So AIIMS entrance exam is indeed difficult, but that should not deter you from appearing in the exam. Why? Because, those of you who are brilliant would get that coveted seat in AIIMS. But even if you do not get an AIIMS seat, the preparation for it could very easily get you a good medical college through AIPMT (All India Pre Medical Test), which is held in April 1st week every year. Infosys Campus/Off-campus freshers Recruitment

Infosys Campus/Off-campus freshers Recruitment

Infosys Technologies Ltd. it is going to recruit 15000 freshers as per its Q3 result (dtd. 12/01/2010). I quote below the relevant portion from page-5 of the Q3 result:

"…In Q4, we are going to hire 6,000 people. For the year, we are hiring 25,000 people. For next year, we are making 15,000 campus offers..."
- by S. Gopalakrishnan, CEO & MD, Infosys Technologies.

If the recruitment of Infosys goes as per above plan, than it is the right time for freshers to try for Infosys and this blog post revolves around freshers recruitment at Infosys – how to apply as a fresher for an Infosys job, what is the recruitment process etc.

But before that, although Infosys does not need an introduction – a small primer for you to know Infosys as an organisation, which may be handy at the time of Infosys interview.

What is Infosys: Infosys is one of the largest IT companies in India with 105,453 professionals working in over 50 offices and development centers in India, China, Australia, the Czech Republic, Poland, the UK, Canada and Japan.
How good is Infosys as an organisation can be judged from the fact that it is being voted the 'Most Admired Indian Company' in The Wall Street Journal Asia 200 for 10 years in a row since 2000.
More about Infosys can be found in this About us page as well as in Wiki.

If the above statistics on Infosys has impressed you, naturally you would like to know how tough is to get a job in Infosys – well it is tough - in 2007, Infosys received over 1.3 million applications and hired fewer than 3% of applicants.

Infosys Freshers Recruitment process:
There are two ways in which a fresher can apply for an Infosys job:
1.0 Campus Recruitment.
2.0 Off-Campus Recruitment.

Infosys Campus Recruitment:
Infosys relies heavily on campus recruitment for its intake of freshers. It does this by maintaining a close relation with institutes of repute through its various programs like Campus Connect (the academia-industry initiative to “align college curriculum with the industry’s requirements”), Instep (the Global Internship Program) as well as its normal campus hiring programs.

Infosys campus recruitment for freshers in engineering institutes takes place from May to September while in management institutes campus recruitment takes place from December to March.

If your institute already has a tie-up with Infosys for campus recruitment, than get in touch with your placement coordinator to know when Infosys is coming for the next campus recruitment.

On the other hand, if Infosys has never visited your college for campus recruitment but you think that the college/student standard can impress Infosys HR to consider for campus recruitment than get in touch with Infosys at mail-id careersquery@infosys.com.

For Infosys Off-Campus Fresher Recruitment:
For those of you who have missed the benefit of Infosys Campus recruitment, do not worry – you can apply directly to Infosys through its CareerPlus program. Click here to find the Online form for Infosys CareerPlus. You can than search for jobs and apply.

You can also search for an Infosys Fresher position through job portals like monster, naukri etc.

Infosys Fresher Eligibility:
Eligibility for freshers to participate in Infosys recruitment events depends on for which Infosys divisions the recruitment is being done.

Infosys BPO fresher eligibility:
The eligibility for is not much and is as below:
1.0 Minimum qualification - Graduation/Diploma (10+2+3)
2.0 Should have good communication skills & willing to work in shifts.

Infosys IT/ Consulting fresher eligibility:
The eligibility depends on which positions they wants to fill, but an average requirement is given below:

1.0 Fresh Engineering Graduates / Post Graduates, M.Sc (Maths, Statistics, Physics or Computer Science) or MCAs.

2.0 Excellent academic record, through out till Engg./Graduation and Post Graduation. The %age eligibility criteria depends on which technical positions they wants to fill but in no cases minimum %age is less than 60% - all through out from Class-X till graduation.

3.0 Must not have participated Infosys selection process in past 9 months.

Infosys in its career website does not say much about the eligibility criteria/recruitment process for freshers and above information has been compiled from a number of websites. Hope you found the same useful. In the forthcoming days, I would post more info on Infosys Fresher selection tests – like Infosys exam pattern, sample papers and books. So keep looking for more in this blog! Source: http://www.careerquips.blogspot.com/

CSIR UGC NET Exam Pattern Question Pattern Format

CSIR UGC NET Exam Pattern Question Pattern Format

About UGC-NET Exam
The National Educational Testing Bureau of University Grants Commission conducts National Eligibility Test to check the eligibility for lectureship and to award Junior Research Fellowship. This test is done to ensure that a candidate has minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching professions and research. The test includes papers in Humanities, social Science, Forensic Science, Environmental Science, Computer Science and Application and Electronics Science.

The Net tests are conducted twice a year usually in the months of June and December. The candidates interested in research, The Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) is available for five years. UGC even has allocated a number of fellowships to some universities so that the candidates qualifying the JRF test can take admission. The JRFs are awarded only to the meritorious candidates from those who qualify for eligibility for lectureship in the NET test. You have to opt for JRF in the application form.

Candidate should have scored a minimum of 55 % marks in their post graduate degree or any other equivalent examination. For JRF the candidate must not be more than 28 years but there is five years relaxation for the SC/ST. There are three papers in the NET. The paper 1 checks the teaching or research capacity by testing reasoning ability, comprehension and divergent thinking. This paper is of 1 hr and 15 min duration. The paper II contains subject of postgraduate study. This paper is also of 1 hr and 15 min duration. Candidate can select a subject of their choice. The paper is of objective type. The paper III is a descriptive type and is of 2hr and 30 min. the result of the NET is declared by summing up the result of all the three papers. The notification of the test is published in Employment News and other leading newspaper.

First: Exam Pattern of CSIR-UGC NET:
CSIR-UGC NET Exam consists of two papers: Paper I & Paper II, each paper with worth 200 marks needs to be answered in 2-n-1/2 hour on the same day with 1-n-1/2 hour break.

Paper I of CSIR-UGC NET:
It has two parts: Part-A & Part-B. Part-A of Paper-I is common to candidates of all subjects, while Part-B of Paper-I and also Paper-II is specific to your own subject.

Questions of Paper-I is of objective type (multiple choice) with Part-A having 40 questions & Part-B 100 questions. But you need to answer only 25 questions in Part-A & 75 questions in Part-B. Thus you have a lot of options there…… but beware, if you answer more than 25 questions (say 27) in Part-A, only the first 25 questions would be evaluated. Same is also true for Part-B. If you answer more 75 questions (say 76) in Part-B, only the first 75 questions would be evaluated.

Also, there is negative marking in Paper-I. And you need to score certain minimum marks (to be decided by CSIR) in Paper-I (Part-A & Part-B combined) for your Paper-II answers to be evaluated. But do not be scared, the questions itself are very simple..

Paper II of CSIR-UGC NET:
In Paper-II, questions are Descriptive questions (Short answer type) for 200 marks to be answered in 2-n-1/2 HR. To answer each question, you will be provided one page each. The questions are specific to your own subjects and the scheme/pattern (Number of questions asked) of exam varies from subject to subject. Following is a summary:

Chemical Sciences:
There are total 35-40 questions. But you need to answer only 13 questions. Question-1 of 20 marks is compulsory. Besides it, you need to answer 12 other questions of 15 marks each.

Earth Sciences:
There are total 36-42 questions. But you need to answer only 10 questions of 20 marks each.

Life Sciences:
There are total 39-45 questions. Question-1 of 20 marks is compulsory. Besides it, you need to answer 15 other questions of 12 marks each.

Mathematical Science:
There are total 39-46 questions. But you need to answer only 10 questions of 20 marks each.

Physical Science:
It has two parts - Part-A & Part-B. Part-A has total 10 questions, but you need to answer only 8 questions of 15 marks each. Part-B has total 20 questions, but you need to answer only 8 questions of 10 marks each.

You might be quite confused by now about the exam pattern of CSIR-UGC NET. So just look below (click to enlarge) for all your doubts to be cleared:
