What is Power Grid Corporation?
Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. is the largest transmission utility organisation in India and is one of the largest in the world - accounting for 45% power transmissions in India (the other Indian organisations in this sector being - NTPC, NHPC & NPCI). It is responsible for the inter-state transmission of electricity and the development of national grid.
Power Grid has a pan India presence with around 71,500 Circuit-km of Transmission network and 120 nos. of EHVAC & HVDC sub-stations with a total transformation capacity of 79,500 MVA. Power Grid has consistently maintained the transmission system availability over 99.00% which is at par with the International Utilities. In the recent times, it has also diversified into Telecom business and established a telecom network of more than 20,000 km across the country. Power Grid ET Vacancy Position:
Vacancy as per above notification is:
Executive Trainee (Electrical): 63
Executive Trainee (Finance): 27
Power Grid ET Salary:
Power Grid is offering salary in the pay scale of Rs. 24900-50500 (Aprox CTC Rs.6.0 lakhs per year) during the one-year training period. Post training CTC is Rs.11.0 lakhs per annum.
Power Grid ET Eligibilities:
Age eligibility: as on 25.02.2010
Maximum 28 years (Age relaxations exists as per Govt rule)
Academic Qualification eligibility:
For Executive Trainee (Electrical) positions:
Minimum 65% in BE/B.Tech or equivalent in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics engineering. Only pass marks required for SC/ST/PH candidates. Final year students can also apply, provided the results are declared within 31.07.2010.
Eligibilities for Executive Trainee (Finance) positions:
CA/ICWA from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India/Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India.
How to apply for Power Grid ET position:
You can apply only online!
But if you belong to General/OBC categories, even before applying online, you need to make a Demand draft (DD) for the PGCIL application fee of Rs.400/- from SBI. The DD to be drawn in in favour of ‘Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.’ payable at New Delhi.
You need to enter these details in the Power Grid Online form.
How to apply online for Power Grid ET exam has been given in detail in section "How to apply" in page6/7 of the Notification. Post submission of online application, you need to send the printout of the application along with other enclosures to following address:

Last date of Power Grid Online registration: 25-02-2010.
