Always choose wine according to the occasion and party-type. If it is an all-girls party, go for a light wine; while if it is a dinner party for both genders, select a full-bodied wine. Pick a wine harmonizing with your food and desserts. Follow a straightforward rule of combining white with white and red with red, but make sure that you make a perfect blend between food and drinks. But before you visit a liquor store for purchasing wine, take a look at the ambiance of the shop. Wines are best preserved in an environment with regulated temperature and light, so stay away from the store where there is intense heat, bright sunlight and fluctuating temperature.

Now, decide on the wine color and taste. There are many choices available in the market including white wine, red wine, dessert wine, sparkling wine, etc. You can opt for any one of them, according to your liking and taste. Always have an idea about your preference as well as budget in your mind, as it will make the buying process easier as well as convenient. Some assistance can also be asked from the store staff. You can tell about your preferences to the salesperson and ask for the appropriate wine.

Some stores offer samples for tasting wine before making a purchase. Try at least three brands or wine types, but not more than that, because it may confuse your taste buds.
